This meeting is one of the most important periodic conference events for the postal, courier and distribution sectors in Poland and aspires to be the largest postal conference in Central Europe.
The opening speech titled "The postal market in its second year of liberalization" was delivered by Karol Krzywicki, Deputy President of UKE. In his preliminary analysis he said, inter alia: The change that has taken place in the postal market during the last two years is not an effect of a single incident or single legal regulation. The development of this market results from daily, systematic work on creating its value by all stakeholders. (...) The huge potential of the postal market is confirmed by large scale engagement of investors, both those who invest their money in new companies operating in this market as well as stock exchange investors who earned more than 100% in the period of 2012-13 from the shares of one of the operators. Karol Krzywicki informed the audience that a tender for the provision of universal service will be launched this year. He announced forthcoming consultations with administrative authorities, the Office for Competition and Consumer Protection and with the operators. The contest will be resolved next year.
The conference was attended by representatives of some 50 enterprises and industry institutions. The representatives of the largest foreign operators interested in entering the Polish market were also present. The main topics covered during this year's conference included in particular: open postal market in Poland, new Postal Act, new technologies and solutions supporting the provision of postal and courier services, Poczta Polska S.A. in the liberalized market and mobile trends in the development of modern postal services.
