The President of UKE launched a series of thematic conferences dedicated to the analysis of Internet access possibilities and market development. The conferences are co-organised by the marshal offices.
The new initiative of the President of UKE is aimed at supporting the activities of the Regional Broadband Network (RBN) owners by making the information on telecommunications infrastructure and services possessed by the President of UKE available to them, and providing them with information about the rules of infrastructure access. During the meetings an analysis of possibilities for Internet access and market development is presented against the macroeconomic indicators for a given voivodeship. The presented maps show not only particular areas with telecommunications infrastructure and the number of buildings, but indicate also age groups of inhabitants together with their educational structure. The data derive from the UKE resources, and from other sources such as Central Statistical Office, and compiled to the workshop needs. Each conference is closed with a discussion with the participation of regional governments and undertakings.
The conferences are held in the voivodeships where Regional Broadband Networks were built. The presented information is tailored to the needs of each of them and present demand potential to the undertakings and telecommunications infrastructure owners in a given region. The meetings are also attended by the operator of a given network, who presents the possibilities of both collocation and making transmission and passive infrastructure available.
The series of meetings was inspired by he last year's conference in Białowieża, during which information presented for Podlaskie voivodship have attracted a lot of interest and positive feedback from the undertakings.
The conferences were already held in Podkarpackie (Rzeszów, 23 February 2016) and Świętokrzyskie (Kielce, 17 March 2016) voivodeships. Next conferences are planned in Lubelskie (6 April 2016) and Lubuskie (25 April 2016) voivodeships. We invite you to join us at the conference!
