Several months ago the Office of Electronic Communications warned against an alarming phenomenon experienced by the users of telephone services. We have recently again received the signals from the subscribers and from the telecommunications undertakings about this practice.

Conclusions in Certification Programme of the President of UKE

We encourage all interested parties to participate in the certification programme of the President of UKE including the following categories: Safe Internet, No Barriers, Senior, and Offer Comparison Website. Applications for certification may be submitted until 30 September.

New Maps of Demand

The Office of Electronic Communications has released a new edition of the national Maps of Demand presenting the demand for landline telephones, broadband Internet and local hot spots with Internet access available in public areas.

UKE's measures for the benefit of consumers

Pro-consumer policy is consistently one of the pillars of the President of UKE's strategy. In 2012 alone, the experts of the Consumer Information Centre provided about 12 000 phone advice services, and UKE undertook almost 8 000 interventions with the operators, of which 67% were processed to the benefit of consumers.

"Trust but verify" in Bydgoszcz and Golub-Dobrzyń

Bydgoszcz and Golub-Dobrzyń were visited by the experts of the Office of Electronic Communications and Consumer Advocates as part of the "Trust but verify" programme. The purpose of the meeting was to familiarize consumers with issues relating to contracts for telecommunications services.

UKE at the Consumer Knowledge Trade Fair

On 16 March, on the occasion of the World Consumer Rights Day, in Wola Park Shopping Centre in Warsaw, a Consumer Knowledge Trade Fair was held, during which consumers could obtain help and advice of experts from organizations and institutions dealing with consumer protection.

Safer Internet Day - "Connect with respect"

On 5 February, we celebrate 5th International Safer Internet Day and its 2013 theme are the rights and responsibilities of a digital citizen.  The campaign's slogan is "Connect with respect".

The President of UKE is also the specialised authority in the area of equipment conformity assessment, including telecommunications terminal equipment and radio equipment.

    International activity of the President of UKE consists of, inter alia, cooperation with the European Commission, other EU institutions and Regulatory Authorities of EU Member State. It includes also the cooperation within organizations of which UKE is a member, i.e. the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), the Body for European Regulators of Electronic Communications (BEREC) and the European Committee for Postal Regulation (CERP).
