I/ERG gathered in Warsaw

On 3-4 December 2009 Office of Electronic Communications for the first time in its history hosted representatives of regulators from the EU Members Sates, the EFTA countries and the EU candidate states along with representatives from the European Commission gathered at the General Assembly of Independent Regulators Group (IRG) and the Plenary Meeting of European Regulators Group (ERG). Among others, one of the main issues discussed involved preparations for the functioning in the new institutional framework due to creation of the Body of European Regulators in Electronic Communications (BEREC), which will ultimately replace the ERG. The 2010 Work Programme was adopted, which largely focuses on the implementation of the new Telecommunications Package.

The next meeting of the European regulators' heads will be held in February 2010 in Paris.
