HOLIDAYS!!! Be safe, remember emergency numbers

The Office of Electronic Communications reminds about emergency numbers and numbers for services of social value that may be used in the whole territory of the European Union to obtain help in case of an accident, a hazardous event or to report a dangerous situation.

On 20 November, a new emergency number 995 was launched. It is dedicated to the Child Alert system the purpose of which is to start search action in case of kidnapping.

Summary of the PLI CBD project

On 27 April 2011 a conference organised by the President of UKE was held in Warsaw to summarise the Location and Information Platform with a Centralised Data Base (PLI CBD) project. This is the first project financed from the resources of the 7th axis of the Innovative Economy Operational Programme (PO IG).

The 116 111 helpline

The Nobody’s Children Foundation (Fundacja Dzieci Niczyje) will operate the first, free-of-charge nation-wide helpline for children and teenagers.

Free calls to numbers beginning with 116

The group of 116 numbers (i.e. 116 000 – hotline for missing children, 116 111 – child helplines, 116 123 – emotional support hotline) includes pan-European, continuous and free of charge telephone lines for the provision of services with social value. The initiative, launched by the European Commission, is supported in Poland by the Ministry of the Interior and Administration and by the Office of Electronic Communications.

We would like to remind you that it is possible to apply to UKE for the assignment of numbers beginning with 116 in order to provide services of social value.

    The President of the Office of Electronic Communications (President of UKE) is the national regulatory authority for the market of telecommunications and postal services. The President of UKE is also the specialised authority in the area of equipment conformity assessment, including telecommunications terminal equipment and radio equipment.
