UKE and ITU to develop terrestrial transmission maps

On 27 November 2013, the President of the Office of Electronic Communications Magdalena Gaj together with the ITU-D Director Brahima Sanou signed a letter of intention on the development of Interactive Terrestrial (Optical Fibres and Microwaves) Transmission Maps.

UKE workshop for Serbian NRA

On 27 November, on the invitation of the Serbian national regulatory authority for the electronic communications market (RATEL), experts from the Office of Electronic Communications held workshops on the Polish telecommunications infrastructure mapping system. A memorandum on cooperation between the national regulatory authorities of UKE and RATEL was also signed.

At the invitation of Korean organizers of next year's ITU Plenipotentiary Conference (PP-14), Mr Wojciech Berezowski, as representative of the Office of Electronic Communications and of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) at the same time, took part in the Global ICT Forum for PP-14.

Agreement with Thai regulator NBTC

On 20th of November the President of UKE Magdalena Gaj signed the memorandum of understanding with Thai regulator - National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC).

On 20 November, a new emergency number 995 was launched. It is dedicated to the Child Alert system the purpose of which is to start search action in case of kidnapping.

Memorandum against theft becomes part of governmental safety programme

On 29 October, initiatives taken under the Memorandum launched by UKE, URE and UTK were included in the list of actions within the "Together for safety" governmental programme.

    The President of the Office of Electronic Communications (President of UKE) is the national regulatory authority for the market of telecommunications and postal services. The President of UKE is also the specialised authority in the area of equipment conformity assessment, including telecommunications terminal equipment and radio equipment.
