Telecommunications Infrastructure in Poland

The President of the Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) published a Report on coverage of the territory of Poland by the existing telecommunications infrastructure, including investment projects implemented in 2012 and scheduled in 2013, and buildings enabling co-location.

Public consultation on auction in the 800 MHz and 2.6 GHz bands

The President of the Office of Electronic Communications launches public consultation on the first auction in Poland for frequencies in the 800 MHz and 2.6 GHz bands. This is very good news for all owners of smartphones, tablets and users of multimedia services.

Poland among the countries with the lowest costs of telephone calls

According to the European Commission, the differences between the costs of telephone calls in the EU amount  to 774 percent. Poland with its 4.6 eurocents per minute is doing very well in this benchmark - far below the European average level of 9.1 eurocents per minute. Lower prices are only in Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia and Romania.

Tender for extension of the PLI CBD launched

On 2 August the President of the Office of Electronic Communications published a notice of an unlimited tender for the extension of the Location and Information Platform with a Central Database (PLICBD2).

    The President of the Office of Electronic Communications (President of UKE) is the national regulatory authority for the market of telecommunications and postal services. The President of UKE is also the specialised authority in the area of equipment conformity assessment, including telecommunications terminal equipment and radio equipment.
