Report on coverage of the territory of the Republic of Poland with telecommunications infrastructure

In the previous year we noted 15 percent increase in the length of network in comparison with 2013. The data provided by operators, local governments and public utility companies show that at the end of the previous year the length of optical network in Poland was almost 315 thousand kilometres.

Announcement of the auction results

The President of the UKE decided on 19 reservations auction of frequencies in the 800 and 2600 MHz.

15 Years of Telecommunications and Postal Market Regulator in Poland

This year we celebrate the 15th anniversary of operations of the telecommunications and postal market regulator. Its mission is to use the potential of technology to satisfy the basic human need – to communicate – and provide Polish society with the access to modern telecommunications and postal services.

Meeting with the delegation of the Regulator from Bosnia and Herzegovina

The delegation of the Communications Regulatory Agency from Bosnia and Herzegovina (RAK) led by the acting General Director, Mr Jasenko Lasta, visited Poland at the invitation of the President of the Office of Electronic Communications. The visit took place within the framework of the celebrations of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Office for the regulation of telecommunications and postal markets in Poland.

The President of the Office of Electronic Communications launched the debate on access to the postal network

On 5th October 2015 at the UKE premises a meeting of the regulator with the representatives of postal operators as well as social organizations and associations operating in the postal market was held. The meeting was dedicated to the issues connected with access to the postal network. The President of UKE has been the patron and initiator of the whole process.

First Call for Projects within the Framework of the Digital Poland Operational Programme

On 30th September 2015 the Digital Poland Project Centre announced a new call for projects under competition procedure, for co-financing of projects with the funds of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) within the framework of the first priority axis of the Digital Poland Operational Programme – ‘Common access to high-speed Internet’, Measure 1.1 ‘Eliminating territorial differences in terms of access to high-speed broadband Internet’.

    The President of the Office of Electronic Communications (President of UKE) is the national regulatory authority for the market of telecommunications and postal services. The President of UKE is also the specialised authority in the area of equipment conformity assessment, including telecommunications terminal equipment and radio equipment.

    International activity of the President of UKE consists of, inter alia, cooperation with the European Commission, other EU institutions and Regulatory Authorities of EU Member State. It includes also the cooperation within organizations of which UKE is a member, i.e. the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), the Body for European Regulators of Electronic Communications (BEREC) and the European Committee for Postal Regulation (CERP).
