The Regulation on roaming on public mobile telephone networks within the Community was published on 29 June 2007.  The Regulation entered into force on 30 June 2007 across all EU member states.

The Regulation sets out the maximum charges at the wholesale and retail level.  At the retail level the customers shall be offered the Eurotariff not exceeding EUR 0,49 (excl. VAT) per minute for any call made or EUR 0,24 per minute for any call received (excl. VAT).


Eurotariff step by step

Mobile telephone operators are obliged to offer Eurotariff to all their costumers by 30 July 2007.

Customers, who will chose Eurotariff without delay and will make their choice known to their operator will be provided with Eurotariff at the latest by 30 August 2007.

Customers who have not chosen the Eurotariff (excluding customers who had opted for special roaming tariff before the entry into force of this Regulation) will be provided with Eurotariff automatically after 30 September 2007.

Customers who had opted for special roaming tariffs before the entry into force of  the Regulation and who fail to chose Eurotariff, will not be accorded the Eurotariff  automatically.
