On 19 March, analogue terrestrial television signal from the transmitters in: Elblag, Rzeszów, Szczecin, Warsaw and Wisła will be replaced by digital signal. At the same time digital transmitters broadcasting programmes of the third multiplex (MUX-3) will be launched in these locations. In addition, the vast majority of converter stations working with the main switched-off analogue stations will be replaced with illuminating digital stations.

Digital terrestrial television in the DVB-T standard (Digital Video Broadcasting - Terrestrial) provides access to a wide range of programmes and better signal quality. Through the process of digitisation of terrestrial television in Poland, which will last until July 2013, in place of several programmes currently available in analogue TV, nationwide reception of up to 24 free digital TV programmes will be possible.

Currently, the digital terrestrial television offers up to 21 TV programmes broadcast from three digital multiplexes (abbreviated MUX). They include:
  • MUX-1: TVP1 HD, TVP2, TVP INFO, Polo TV, ESKA TV, ATM Rozrywka TV, T-TV;
  • MUX-2: Polsat, Polsat Sport News, TVN, TVN7, TV Puls, TV Puls 2, TV4, TV6;
  • MUX-3: TVP1, TVP2 HD, TVP INFO, TVP Kultura, TVP Historia, TVP Polonia.
