Analysis of the prices of fixed access to the Internet in Poland in comparison with the Member States of the EU

The purpose of the attached analysis is to compare the retail prices for access to the Internet in the EU Member States and in the United States of America.

 

The analysis contains a reference in to the Polish position and proposed regulatory measures in this regard.

The analysis shows, inter alia, that:

  • retail prices offered to consumers by the Polish telecom operators are lower than the European average retail prices (split into individual capacity) even by the rate of about 54%,
  • retail prices offered by TP SA in most cases are more attractive for Polish consumers than similar deals with the same characteristics offered to consumers in the U.S. and other European countries
  • price offer of TP SA and price offer of an alternative operator are at a lower level than the European average for each capacity and at a lower level compared with the respective EU operators' offers
  • In comparison with the European and global operators monthly average retail price for Internet access in Poland stands out positively
