Changes in the rules and regulations for the provision of Internet access free of charge

2011-08-29

New rules and regulations from Aero2, taking account of the position of the President of UKE, will be in place starting from 1 September 2011.

The President of UKE informs all interested parties that as a follow-up to the arrangements made during the meeting with the Aero2 Sp. z o.o. board ("Aero2") referred to in the communication of 21 July 2011 and as a result of explanatory proceedings conducted by the President of UKE, Aero2 prepared new rules and regulations for the provision of Internet access free of charge. As announced by the company, they should be in place starting from 1 September 2011.

The new rules and regulations take account of the position presented by the President of UKE and referred to in the communication of 18 August 2011.

The amended rules and regulations specify, according to the general exclusive frequency licence Ref: DZC-WAP-5176-8/09 (21), the date within which free Internet access will expire.

New procedures related to the distribution and activation of SIM cards indicating the time limits for the issuance and activation of SIM cards were also introduced. Thanks to the changes introduced in the rules and regulations it will be possible to collect SIM cards both in the distribution points and by means of postal operators.

In addition, the rules and regulations extend a definition of telecommunications equipment, which enabled an extension in the list of modems compatible with the SIM card.
