On 20 March 2015 the ”M@turity in the Net” coalition and the Broad Agreement on Digital Skills announced the results of the 3rd edition of the ”M@turity in the Net. Good Practices” competition. The event was held under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland, Bronisław Komorowski and patronage of Magdalena Gaj, the President of the Office of Electronic Communications, who was also a member of the competition jury.
The project is aimed at promotion of initiatives developing skills and encouraging use of new technologies by people above 50 years of age. In the current year particular attention was given to projects of cross-generation profile. A special focus was given to the selection of the best and most inspiring projects, which involve younger generations.
This year’s competition winners are: Cotopaxi Association, which was awarded for the “Late debuts” project (1st place), the Voluntary Fire Services in Bobrowniki for the ”Bobrowniki yesterday and today” project (2nd place) and the Technical and Service Schools (ZST) in Trzebinia for the training within “e-Senior in ZST” program (3rd place). The “Late debut” project won the Internet users’ award.
Three institutions were awarded special honours. PRO-MED Company from Gdańsk - for innovative and international outreach of the “City games” project. Zaczyn Foundation, which implements the “In the Senior’s opinion” project, received the Honours of the Digitalization Leader for exceptional sensitivity to seniors’ needs and their social activation. “Galeria Książki” Library from Oświęcim received honours for the variety of educational activities, from basic to those connected with computer software within the “Infogeneration” action.
