Roaming Charges Update

Pursuant to the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council of November 2015  (hereinafter "regulation"), on 1 July 2016  charges for particular mobile services applied in the international roaming provided within EU/EEA area should be updated in accordance to the reference exchange rates. 

 

It is worth pointing out that the total charge for particular services in the international roaming provided within the EU/EEA area consists of two parts:
•    domestic price of the service,,
•    surcharge stipulated in the regulation.
The sum of the above-mentioned cannot exceed values indicated in table 1.

Comment: The limit in PLN includes 23% VAT.

1 EUR = 4.3317 PLN as an average calculated on the basis of reference exchange rates published in the OJ EU of 1.03, 1.04 and 03.05.2016.

Particular surcharges in roaming within EU/EEA area as regards outgoing calls, sent SMS and data transmission services cannot exceed the maximum wholesale charges stipulated in the regulation.

Comment: The limit in PLN includes 23% VAT.

In reference to data transmission there is still a mechanism in place according to which after a customer exceeds the data transfer limit equal PLN 266.39, operator is obliged to cease to provide data transmission service, unless it receives information from the customer who requests the provision of this service. 

Regulation (EU) 2015/2120 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 November 2015 laying down measures concerning open internet access and amending Directive 2002/22/EC on universal service and users’ rights relating to electronic communications networks and services and Regulation (EU) No 531/2012 on roaming on public mobile communications networks within the Union.
