The European Commission launched a GIPO platform as a source of knowledge about the Internet management process

2015-05-04
Unia Europejska_flaga
The European Commission has launched a GIPO (Global Internet Policy Observatory) website. It will give a wide range of stakeholders the possibility to participate in discussions on the future of the Internet.

It is assumed that GIPO will be an online platform for collecting and sharing information on major events related to the operation and development of the Internet. There are two main objectives of the GIPO platform: to facilitate access to information on the Internet management and to promote the European values among the third countries, by involving them in the creation and maintenance of the entire project.

The European Commission advocates a model of the Internet management with the participation of many stakeholders (i.e. a multilateral model referred to as a multi-stakeholder model). Thus, GIPO shall foster greater involvement of all stakeholders and enhance the promotion of the aforementioned model.

We invite you to familiarize with the possibilities offered by the GIPO platform at: http://giponet.org/en.
