The report on the execution of an obligation imposed on TP to assure telephone directory and telephone directory enquiry services between 2008-2011.
In connection with large interest of the telecommunications market and also of consumers in correct functioning and usefulness of telephone directory and telephony directory enquiry services provided by Telekomunikacja Polska SA, the President of UKE presents the report on these services.
The presented data shows that the demand for such services is decreasing year by year. We may state that there is a large probability that the usage value of the mentioned services for customers is decreasing because the data bases of telephone directory and also of telephone directory enquiry services include personal data for only a small percentage of the actual number of subscribers. For example, in 2009 the total number of fixed and mobile subscribers in Poland was 53 410 208, while the number of subscriber personal details included in the telephone directory enquiry service reached 15 564 481.
This means that in 2009 the telephone directory enquiry service data base encompassed personal details of only 29% of the subscribers.
The main reason of incomplete data base of telephone directory and telephone directory enquiry services are the regulations of law in the scope of personal data protection which require the subscribers being private persons to give their consent to include their personal data in the telephone directory and telephone directory enquire services database, which reduces the value of both services.
