The President of UKE presents a Guidebook entitled: “The Protection of the Youngest against Pornography Accessible via the Premium Rate services”.

The Premium Rate Services, i.e. services that are extra-paid, among which there are: Premium Rate SMS, Premium Rate MMS and Special Voice Services, based on the so called “special numbers”.

Such special numbers are most often used by the providers of the extra-paid services. Those numbers characteristically and most frequently consist of four or five digits and start with the number 7 or 9 in case of SMS/MMS numbers, e.g. 71XX(X) or 95XX(X), and for the phone connections these are the numbers following 70X-XXX-XXX scheme, e.g.: 702-XXX-XXX or the shortened numbers preceded by an asterisk, e.g.: *7XXXX, where (X) indicates a random number.

The detailed information concerning the payments for the Premium Rate SMS/MMS services is set forth by the telecommunications services providers (operators) in the Price Lists for the provision of telecommunications services. Moreover, information concerning Premium Rate payments is available on websites of the extra-paid services’ providers and in other publications, where they put information on the provided services.

More information is provided in the enclosed Guidebook (in Polish only).
