Female students of sciences and IT are invited for the second time to participate in a contest for traineeships in the best companies in the ICT sector: Cisco Systems Polska, SAS Institute, Sygnity, Microsoft Polska, Polish Public Television, Motorola Solutions, AVIVA, HUAWEI, GTECH and GFT Poland.
The contest is addressed to female students of sciences and IT at least in their second year of first degree studies, in their second degree studies and in uniform master's studies. The condition to participate in the contest is to solve a specific task prepared by each of the partner companies.
The contest starts on 15 March and the time limit for presenting solutions expires on 30 April 2015.
"Girls in New Technologies" is a social initiative of the President of the Office of Electronic Communications strictly related with the celebrations of the world Women and Girls in ICT Day, established by the International Telecommunication Union, that this year take place on 23 April.
The purpose of this initiative is to publicize the problem of low participation of women in the sector of new technologies: telecommunications and IT as well as to encourage young women to take up studies and employment in the ICT industry.
The motto "Girls in New Technologies" covers cooperation between the Office of Electronic Communications and six business partners as founders of the traineeships: Cisco Systems Polska, SAS Institute, Sygnity, Microsoft Polska, Polish Public Television, Motorola Solutions, AVIVA, HUAWEI, GTECH and GFT Poland, as well as academic partners: Lodz University of Technology, West Pomeranian Technological University, AGH University of Science and Technology, Warsaw University of Technology, Military Technical Academy, Wrocław University of Technology, Cracow University of Technology, Rzeszow University of Technology, Czestochowa University of Technology and Gdańsk University of Technology.
Competition are under the honorary patronage of Anna Komorowska, the First Lady of the Republic of Poland.
